Abandoned Pools是我个人很喜欢的一支来自美国的另类摇滚团。他的核心是 Tommy Walter，他一个人兼乐手/曲作者/演唱为一体，Abandoned Pools则是他表演时的别名。他开始被人记录名册是在他在斯托克顿太平洋大学时，在那里他开始学习一些20世纪初的音乐理论，随后他开始在那里进行自己的教学生涯。但是他渐渐发现教别人并不能满足他亲生实践，渴望摇滚音乐的愿望，随后他开始了渐渐踏上摇滚音乐词曲作者兼乐手的舞台。起先他曾经和也是一个歌手兼词曲作者的E合作成立过一个乐队叫Eels，但是后来在1996年的初次演出后就很快因为种种原因不了了之了，离开了乐团。从此他开始了自己一个人的音乐生涯。他开始一个人在他的公寓里编写和录制自己的原始材料，那些音轨后来就成为了Abandoned Pools的奇迹。他于2001年11月以自己第一张专辑 Humanistic开始了自己以Abandoned Pools为名的成功演出，2002年更获得了MTV的大奖。04年的时候他与鼓手Bryan Head和吉他手Sean Woolstenhulme共同合作，而后在2005年又发表了自己引以为奥的第二张正式专辑Armed to the Teeth。
